Meet Barney Google Squarepants, ranked number one in his breed in agility trials in the U.S. Barney, a Norfolk Terrier, has won honors at agility trials around the area and most importantly he earned National awards at the American Kennel Club Agility International in Long Beach, CA. At the end of the competition in California, Barney was number one Norfolk Terrier, third place overall in the final round against 100 dogs who were in his jump height category of 8 inches. He was also third place in the country for all 126 dog breeds at the trial. Obstacles on the agility course included tunnels, A-frames, dog walk, weave poles and jumps- all to be conquered in a certain amount of time that allowed for no mistakes. Most of the courses have 20 obstacles.
Barney is 6 years old and has been trained by his owners, Jill and Ron VanDieren since he was 16 weeks old, another trainer in Lamar, Missouri, also assists them. Barney has lots of energy and walks four to five miles a day with Jill. He's a celebrity in Pittsburg and receives greetings from many as he trots down neighborhood streets. All of this exercise and training requires a healthy diet prepared with vegetables from the VanDieren's garden.
Dr. Beezley and the staff of Countryside Animal Hospital are very proud of Barney and his many accomplishments and titles. It's a pleasure to have such a happy and friendly dog as a client.
